Tōka Takanashi (小鳥遊 (たかなし) 十花 (とうか) Takanashi Tōka?) is a character in the Japanese anime, Chūnibyō Demo Koi ga Shitai!.

She is voiced by Eri Sendai in the anime. In the English dub, she is voiced Genevieve Simmons

Character Outline[]

Tōka Takanashi is Rikka Takanashi's older sister. She lived one floor above Yuuta Togashi for quite some time. She is allergic to cats, which later forces Yuuta to keep Rikka's cat. She gets frustrated when Rikka is too obsessed with her delusions. She often arrives home late due to her work as a chef in a famous restaurant. Since she was a rhythmic gymnast back in high school, she is extremely flexible, which is evident throughout the series.

Appearance[]

Tōka has waist-length black hair that has a long single hair strand sticking out on top of her head and red eyes.

She is often seen wearing a belt-like choker on her neck, a black t-shirt and jeans or cream pants. She is also commonly seen with a metal ladle of which she uses to discipline her sister or anyone else she finds annoying.

Personality[]

Tōka has a serious demeanor in every situation, though she occasionally uses deadpan humor. Once Yuuta Togashi suggested her to speak with Rikka Takanashi herself but she refused as it will spoil the serious image of hers and that it was too embarrassing. She is also quite strict, shown when she forces Sanae Dekomori to finish up the whole bowl of her salad with cheese, but this may have been because she saw it as an insult that Dekomori called the salad disgusting. She is shy and blushes when Shinka Nibutani praises her cooking. She is jealous of Yūta that he is more closer to Rikka than she is.

Background[]

Tōka and Rikka used to live together with their parents. After their father's death, the family of four shattered. Tōka started to live on her own because of her job and had to leave Rikka behind.

Plot[]

Season 1[]

She encourages Yūta to make Rikka leave her chūnibyō behind, to get rid of her "unhealthy" coping mechanism and grow up.
